Week 1 Update
Loco, July 08
Week one update on my little project. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read the previous blog post.
This week went fucking amazing, but as I'm typing this I'm kinda tilted because FTP is rigged. Nah not really but just had a pretty horrible session there. I've had a couple days where I win a lot on PP and donate all the money back to ftp donks/nits but whatever.
The weather here has been AMAZING! I wanted to play so much more but I can't. My brother came to visit all week + the weather is making it impossible for me to grind as much as I wanted to but that's fine since I'm doing really good so far. People suck at poker.

I've also bought some sick baller PMP (Cowon Q5W) and some $350 headphones and I'm excited like a little school girl to get them.
God I am such an insane audiophile.

The Toby Driver Appreciation Grind
Loco, June 26
This next month, I will be grinding for my love of music and Toby Driver.
My favorite artist/composer/musician (Toby Driver) was the mastermind behind the band maudlin of the Well, which stopped existing in 2003 and gave birth to the band Kayo Dot after a slight line-up change.
Maudlin of the Well is my favorite band. And recently, Toby announced on his blog that he had been retrospecting on the band and some old unreleased songs came back to his mind and surprisingly they were still very fresh and could hear them fully in his head. He said, if he could and had the resources for it, he would record them and possibly make some kind of free internet release if fans donated enough to cover the costs of production. He also later said that he had a lot of fragments of songs in his head, that if he had the resources for it, would be glad to start working on them again, since an old band member is around at the moment.
I commented on his blog entry, ecstatic about the news because I would of NEVER expected to hear new material from this band ever again since they broke up 5 years ago... and asked how much donations he would need for a full album release and he replied to me that it would cost approximatively $900 per song to record in the studio and $200-$300 for mastering on top of that, so unfortunately it would cost way too much and had no hopes of it happening. So after thinking about it for a while, I decided to give it a go and try to finance his record with my poker winnings from July. I set up a blog about it to inform the fans of the band and Toby himself here http://bizarreflower.blogspot.com/
He is one of the most brilliant musical mind of the 21st century, and I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to make this happen.I can't wait to see his reaction when he reads that blog haha. Wish me luck.
